Trading from Bahrain
Bahrain has been a regional financial centre for longer than most of its neighbours, which means the average trader here arrives better informed and asks harder questions. This page assumes that.
The questions worth asking a broker
Where is the licence, and is it verifiable in a public register? Ours is the Seychelles FSA, Securities Dealer licence SD133. It is an international licence, not a European or UK one, and it carries no investor compensation scheme — we would rather state that plainly than have you find it elsewhere.
Where does the cost sit? On a Standard account, entirely in the spread. On a Zero account, spreads from 0.0 pips plus a commission per lot. Neither is cheaper in the abstract; it depends on your volume.
And what are the rules on how you may trade? Scalping, hedging and Expert Advisors are permitted here, with the exact clauses published rather than buried.
The dinar peg
The Bahraini dinar is pegged to the dollar at a fixed rate, and your trading account is denominated in dollars. That makes conversion a constant rather than a risk.
It is worth noting because traders in floating-currency countries take a hidden loss on the round trip when the rate moves against them between deposit and withdrawal. That does not really happen here.
Instruments and what they cost
More than 150 instruments across forex, metals, indices, energy, crypto and share CFDs, each with its contract size, decimal precision and point value published.
Gold is the most traded, by a distance. A standard lot is 100 ounces, so a one-dollar move in the gold price is $100 on a single lot — which is why position size matters more in gold than in almost anything else.
Leverage reaches 1:500 on forex and metals and 1:100 on indices and energy.
Islamic accounts
Swap-free status is available on request on any account type, removing overnight financing.
It is applied per account rather than by tier, so the useful step is confirming it is active on your specific account number before you hold a position past the daily close.
Common questions
Is TNFX regulated?
By the Financial Services Authority of Seychelles, Securities Dealer licence SD133. That is an international licence, not a European or UK one, and carries no investor compensation scheme.
What is the minimum deposit from Bahrain?
$100 for a first deposit on a Standard or Cent account, then $10 for later top-ups.
Is the dinar peg a factor?
Only marginally. The dinar is pegged to the dollar and accounts are USD-denominated, so conversion is effectively constant.
Are swap-free accounts available?
Yes, on request, on any account type. Confirm it is active on your own account before holding overnight.
Is scalping allowed?
Yes. There is no minimum holding time. What is prohibited is exploiting latency or a clearly misquoted price.
Which platforms are supported?
MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, both full versions, on desktop, web and mobile.
