What is the minimum to start trading?
There are two different minimums and almost everyone conflates them. Then there is a third number that matters more than either: what you should actually start with.

The two minimums, separated
The account-opening minimum is the first deposit needed to open a given account type: $100 for Standard, Cent and Turbo, $500 for Zero.
The payment-route minimum is the smallest single transfer a rail will accept: $5 through Ovadot, $10 through most others. This is what applies to every top-up after the account exists.
So the honest answer to "what is the minimum?" is $100 to begin, and $10 at a time after that. A demo account, which needs no deposit and no registration at all, is the true zero.
| Amount | Applies to | |
|---|---|---|
| Open Standard / Cent / Turbo | $100 | First deposit only |
| Open Zero | $500 | First deposit only |
| Top up via Ovadot | $5 | Every deposit after |
| Top up, most other routes | $10 | Every deposit after |
| Withdraw | $50 | Every route, always |
The number that actually matters
The minimum tells you what is allowed. It does not tell you what works, and the gap between those two is where most first accounts die.
Position sizing is what decides survival. On a $100 balance, the smallest gold position most people can open moves about $1 for every dollar gold moves — and gold routinely travels twenty or thirty dollars in a day. One position, one ordinary day, and a third of the account is gone. Not because the forecast was wrong; because the size was.
On a currency pair the same 0.01 lots is about ten cents a pip, which is survivable on $100. That single difference explains most blown first accounts here, because gold is what almost everyone starts with.
The minimum tells you what is allowed. Position size tells you whether you survive.
What we would actually suggest
- Start on a demo. Free, no registration, real market prices. A week is enough to stop the platform surprising you.
- Then a Cent account with $100. Real money at a tenth of the size — the point is to find out what you do differently when it is real.
- Risk 1-2% per trade. On $100 that is $1 to $2. It sounds absurd until you notice it is why experienced traders still have accounts.
- Do not start on gold at standard size. It is what everyone reaches for and it is the least forgiving instrument for a small balance.
- Keep $50 in mind. That is the withdrawal minimum, so a $60 account cannot be partially withdrawn in small pieces.
Common questions
What is the minimum deposit at TNFX?
$100 opens a Standard, Cent or Turbo account and $500 opens a Zero account. After that, top-ups start at $5 through Ovadot and $10 on most other routes.
Can I start with $10?
Not as a first deposit — $100 opens the account. $10 is the minimum for later top-ups on most routes.
Can I trade with no money at all?
Yes, on a demo account. It needs no deposit and no registration, and uses real market prices.
Is $100 enough to trade gold?
It is enough to open a position, but not enough to survive one at standard size. A $30 move in gold on the smallest position is roughly a third of a $100 account. Start on a currency pair or a Cent account.
What is the minimum withdrawal?
$50, on every route without exception.
How much do I need for a Zero account?
A Zero account activates once your total deposits reach $500. Standard and Cent accounts open from $100. If you fund below the threshold the deposit is refused, so choose the account type that matches what you intend to deposit.
Is the minimum the same for every deposit?
No. The first deposit on a Standard or Cent account is $100. After that, every later deposit has a $10 minimum, so you can top up in small amounts once the account is funded.
