How gold is priced in Saudi Arabia
Saudi jewellers quote per gram and work mostly in 21-karat, with 18k for lighter pieces and 24k for bars; the table defaults to 21k for that reason. The riyal is pegged, so the only thing that moves the local price is the world price itself.
Why the jeweller charges more than this
This is the international spot price per gram: the value of the metal itself, the same number the whole market prices from. It is not what you pay at the counter. A jeweller adds a making charge for the work, a margin, and in most countries tax; when you sell back, something is deducted. A shop price above this figure is normal, not a sign you are being cheated — use this number as the base to judge an offer, not as the offer.
Gold bars and coins from a bank or a bullion dealer sit much closer to this price than jewellery does; the difference is the premium you are paying for the maker's name and for liquidity.
How the karats are calculated
Gold is priced per troy ounce, 31.1035 grams. Divide the ounce price by that to get one gram of pure gold — 24 karat. Lower karats are the same number multiplied by purity: 22k is 22/24 (91.7%), 21k is 87.5%, 18k is 75%. That is the entire calculation and it is identical worldwide.
The exchange rate we convert at
The Saudi riyal is pegged to the US dollar, so the conversion is a constant (3.75 to the dollar) and the local price moves only with the world price.
Gold as a trade, not a purchase
The price on this page is exactly what XAUUSD tracks. Buying jewellery or bars means paying a making charge or a premium and storing metal; trading the contract means taking a position on the same price without either. It also means leverage, which cuts both ways: gold moves $20–40 an ounce on an active day, so position size matters here more than almost anywhere else. TNFX quotes gold on MT4 and MT5 with leverage up to 1:1000.

Common questions
What is the gold price today in Saudi Arabia?
The table above shows it per gram for each karat, converted from the live world price. It refreshes every two minutes while the market is open.
Why is the shop price higher?
Because the jeweller adds a making charge, a margin and usually tax. This page shows the metal's world price, which is the base under every shop price.
What does 21k mean?
Purity: 21 parts gold out of 24. 21k gold is 87.5% gold, so its price per gram is 87.5% of the 24k price.
Which exchange rate do you use for the Saudi riyal?
The Saudi riyal is pegged to the US dollar, so the conversion is a constant (3.75 to the dollar) and the local price moves only with the world price.
How often does the price update?
Every two minutes while gold trades (Monday to Friday). Over the weekend the page shows Friday's close.
Is trading gold the same as buying it?
No. A gold CFD follows the same price without making charges or storage, but it uses leverage, so the size you choose matters far more. The demo account lets you try it without money.
