Trading crypto from Iraq
You are trading the price, not the coin. That difference decides almost everything about how this works — including the one risk nobody warns you about.

What you are actually buying — which is nothing
A crypto CFD tracks the price of Bitcoin or Ethereum without you ever owning one. There is no wallet, no private key, no exchange account, and nothing that can be lost to a forgotten password or a hacked platform.
That removes the single largest practical risk of crypto in this region, which is not volatility — it is custody. People do not usually lose money here because Bitcoin fell; they lose it because an exchange froze, a seed phrase went missing, or a P2P trade went wrong.
What it does not remove is the price risk. Crypto moves further in a day than most currency pairs move in a month, and leverage multiplies that in both directions.
No wallet means nothing to lose to a forgotten password. It does not mean nothing to lose.

The weekend, which catches everyone once
Currency markets close on Friday night and reopen Sunday evening. Crypto does not — the underlying market trades every hour of every day.
So a crypto position left open over a weekend is exposed to two full days of price movement, and if you are away from the screen it is exposed unmanaged. This is the single most common way an otherwise sensible crypto position turns into a large loss.
Withdrawals and internal transfers are also paused from Friday 23:45 until Monday 01:15 platform server time, so you cannot move money out mid-weekend either. Size accordingly before Friday closes.
Sizing something that moves like this
Bitcoin routinely moves thousands of dollars in a day. At 1:5 leverage that is still a large number against a small account, and the arithmetic deserves five minutes before your first position rather than after it.
Work out what a 5% adverse move does to your balance at the size you are considering. If the answer frightens you, the position is too big — and 5% is an ordinary day in crypto, not a crash.
Common questions
Can I trade Bitcoin from Iraq?
Yes, as a CFD on MT4 and MT5. You trade the price movement without owning the coin, so there is no wallet and no exchange account involved.
Do I own the crypto?
No. A CFD tracks the price. Nothing is delivered to you, and nothing can be lost to a forgotten key or a hacked exchange.
What leverage is available on crypto?
Up to 1:5 — much lower than FX, because crypto moves much further. The lower of your account leverage and the instrument cap applies.
Does crypto trade at the weekend?
The market does. Bear in mind withdrawals and internal transfers are paused from Friday 23:45 to Monday 01:15 platform server time.
Is crypto available on a swap-free account?
Yes. Islamic status removes overnight financing on crypto CFDs as on everything else.
