Trading from Kuwait

Kuwait has the highest-valued currency in the world and one of the region's most active retail trading populations. Both facts change how you should think about funding an account here.

The dinar is not pegged the way its neighbours are

The riyal, the dirham and the Bahraini dinar are all pegged directly to the dollar, so converting into a USD trading account is effectively a fixed exercise. The Kuwaiti dinar is not — it tracks a weighted basket of currencies, so the KWD/USD rate moves, modestly but genuinely.

That matters at exactly two moments: when you deposit and when you withdraw. In between, your account is denominated in dollars and the dinar is irrelevant to your positions.

It is a small effect over a short holding period and a real one over a year. Worth knowing rather than worrying about.

What Kuwaiti traders actually trade

Gold, overwhelmingly. XAUUSD is the most heavily traded instrument across our entire book and Kuwait is no exception — it is the asset most people here already understand before they open an account.

After that, the US indices and the major currency pairs. Oil gets attention for obvious reasons, though trading it well is harder than the familiarity suggests: it moves on OPEC decisions and weekly inventories rather than on chart patterns.

All of it runs on MT4 and MT5, on desktop and mobile, with more than 150 instruments carrying published specifications.

Islamic accounts

Swap-free status is available on request on any account type. It removes the overnight financing charge, which is the component of leveraged trading that constitutes interest in the economic sense.

It is applied to your individual account rather than granted by account tier, so confirm it is active on your account number before you hold a position past the daily close.

What it does not do is settle whether CFD trading is permissible for you. That is a question of religious judgement, and a broker is not the right authority on it. We can tell you precisely what is charged and when.

Hours that suit the Kuwaiti day

Kuwait sits three hours ahead of UTC, which places the London–New York overlap — the deepest liquidity of the day and the tightest spreads — in the late afternoon and evening. That is convenient: it falls after the working day rather than during it.

The Asian session opens in the Kuwaiti morning and is quieter in the majors. Gold moves throughout but concentrates its volume in that same overlap.

US inflation and employment releases land in the Kuwaiti evening and are the sharpest moves of the week.

Common questions

Can I trade forex from Kuwait with TNFX?

Yes. Accounts are opened online, denominated in USD, and supported in Arabic and English.

What is the minimum deposit?

$100 for a first deposit on a Standard or Cent account. Later top-ups have a $10 minimum.

Is a swap-free account available?

Yes, on request, on any account type. It is applied to your specific account rather than by tier, so confirm it is active before holding overnight.

Does the dinar's exchange rate affect my trades?

Only at deposit and withdrawal. Your account is in dollars, so between those two moments the dinar has no effect on open positions.

What are the best hours to trade from Kuwait?

The late afternoon and evening, when London and New York overlap. That window carries the most liquidity and the tightest spreads.

Which platforms can I use?

MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, both full versions, on desktop, web, iOS and Android.
