Forex trading in Erbil

Erbil is the one part of Iraq where the language of the service matters as much as the pricing — and where most brokers quietly expect you to trade in Arabic or English.

Trading in Kurdish, not translated into it

Our website, the client portal and our support are all available in Kurdish. That is not a translated afterthought bolted onto an Arabic product — it is a full language option, so you can open an account, deposit, read your statement and raise a question without switching languages.

It matters more than it sounds. Trading involves terms that are easy to misread under pressure: margin level, stop out, swap, free margin. Reading those in your own language is the difference between understanding a warning and ignoring it.

Gold is what Erbil trades

Among our Kurdistan Region clients, gold is more dominant than anywhere else in Iraq — a higher share of trading activity than in Baghdad or the south. Currency pairs and oil follow, but not closely.

That concentration makes the mechanics of gold worth understanding properly before size. XAUUSD is quoted in dollars per ounce and a standard lot is 100 ounces, so a $1 move is $100 on a single lot and gold routinely travels $20 to $40 in a day.

The two windows where gold is most active — the Asian morning and the London-New York overlap — both fall at usable hours in Erbil rather than the middle of the night.

Deposits, withdrawals and the practical questions

The same routes work throughout the Kurdistan Region, and the portal shows them to you in Kurdish.

Ovadot, Ptop, USDT on TRC-20, local bank transfer, FastPay and Payeer all work in both directions — money in, and money back out again. The minimum withdrawal is $50 on every one of them.

Q-Card and Zain Cash are deposit routes only. They pay in quickly and cannot pay out, so if you fund through either, your withdrawal is paid through one of the two-way routes above, in your own name. Direct card funding and international bank wire are not available in Iraq at all.

Verification is done once, and the sensible time is the day you open the account rather than the day you want your money. Payouts are always made to the account holder — never to a third party, which is what stops anyone who gets into your account from redirecting the funds.

Your account screen, in plain language

Half the questions our Kurdish-speaking clients ask are not about strategy at all — they are about the row of numbers at the bottom of MetaTrader. Those numbers decide when a position is closed for you, so they are worth reading properly once:

What it saysWhat it actually means
BalanceMoney in the account, not counting open positions
EquityBalance plus or minus what open positions are worth right now — the real number
MarginThe part of your money currently held to keep positions open
Free marginWhat is left to open more, or to absorb a loss
Margin levelEquity ÷ margin, as a percentage. It falls as you lose
Stop outThe margin level at which positions start being closed for you
SwapOvernight financing. Zero on a swap-free account
The number to watch is margin level, not profit. Profit tells you how today went; margin level tells you how much room you have left before the decision is taken out of your hands.

Common questions

Is your platform available in Kurdish?

Yes. The website, client portal and support are all available in Kurdish, so you can open an account and manage it without switching to Arabic or English.

Can I deposit from Erbil?

Ovadot, Ptop, USDT, local bank transfer, FastPay and Payeer all work in both directions. Q-Card and Zain Cash are deposit-only — fast going in, but your payout comes back through a two-way route. Cards and international wire are not available in Iraq.

Is forex trading legal in the Kurdistan Region?

There is no Iraqi or KRG licensing regime for forex brokers, and nothing prohibits individuals from trading. What protects you is the broker's foreign licence — ours is FSA Seychelles SD133, verifiable on the regulator's register.

What do most traders in Erbil trade?

Gold, by a wide margin, followed by the major currency pairs and oil. Gold's most active hours fall conveniently in the local day.
